Access to clean water and safe sanitation is essential for health and community well-being. Through innovative solutions and community-based interventions, Alhaj Shamsul Hoque Foundation works to ensure that vulnerable populations have access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation facilities.
In response to the devastating floods in the Haor region of Sylhet, ASH Foundation launched an innovative initiative—World's First Floating Drinking Water Treatment Plant. Operating from a specially equipped boat, the project purifies and distributes safe drinking water free of charge to flood-affected communities.
The floating treatment plant serves approximately 3,000 people daily.
Poor sanitation remains a major challenge in many unprivileged communities. To improve public health and reduce the spread of water-borne diseases, ASH Foundation has installed more than 250 sanitary latrines across villages in Kurigram, Satkhira, and Cox's Bazar.
These interventions help create healthier living environments while promoting hygiene awareness and long-term community resilience.
To address water scarcity and contamination, ASH Foundation has installed over 300 shallow and deep tube wells across Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, and Kurigram districts.
These tube wells provide thousands of families with access to safe drinking water, particularly in areas affected by arsenic contamination, salinity intrusion, and limited access to reliable water sources.
