An elderly man arrived at Chittagong Medical College Hospital with his ailing wife. As soon as they entered, the rush began—doctors, prescriptions, tests one after another. Exhausted and drenched in sweat from the heat, the old man grew weary.

With the little money he had, he bought medicine. Now, he had nothing left.
His wife kept whispering, “Please… just a little water…”

Tears welled up in his eyes.
He thought, “What do I do now?”
A bottle of water costs 30 taka. But he didn’t even have 5.

At that very moment, a patient’s relative told him,
“Uncle, don’t worry. Go downstairs to the foundation’s booth—you’ll get free drinking water.”

Slowly, the old man walked down. He approached the foundation’s stall and took a drink.
There were tears again… this time of gratitude.

This simple yet deeply touching moment happens every day at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
The Alhaj Shamsul Hoque Foundation’s Free Water Project has now become a name of hope for thousands.
