Even after sustaining 80% burns on her body, brave teacher Mehrin Chowdhury from Milestone College defied the searing heat of the flames and kept shouting to her beloved students:
"Run! Don’t be afraid. I’m here!" Again and again, she rescued her students, each one like her own child, saying:
"Run! Don’t be afraid. I’m here with you." According to the Bangladesh Army, her courage saved the lives of at least 20 students.
In Surah Al-Ma’idah, Allah (SWT) says:
“Whoever saves one life, it is as if he has saved all of mankind.”
One soldier involved in the rescue mission said,
“Madam went back inside to save the children… but she couldn’t come out.”
This heroic woman of Bengal sacrificed her life to save at least 20 young souls. Our heartfelt respect and salutes to the mother who gave birth to such a priceless gem—Mehrin Chowdhury. A humble request to the Milestone College authorities: Please name a building after this noble teacher so her sacrifice and ideals can be a lasting inspiration for future generations.
To the chief advisor of the nation, we respectfully appeal: Honor this true national hero with the “Greatest Woman” award so that students across Bangladesh may be inspired by her bravery.
May Allah grant our beloved teacher Mehrin Chowdhury the highest place in Jannatul Firdaus. Amen
