Despite prolonged food shortages, uncertainty, and blockade, life in the Gaza Strip has not stopped. Since the beginning of Ramadan, there had been a severe shortage of chicken for several days. Finally, as supplies started coming through the border crossings, many families could breathe a sigh of relief.
This Ramadan, having “special” chicken for sehri and iftar though it may sound ordinary is a rare blessing for the people of Gaza. When we prepare elaborate iftar arrangements, we ask ourselves what are these oppressed people eating? Even amidst rubble and limited resources, they remain deeply attached to their homeland and maintain unwavering love for the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In this humanitarian context, under the management of the Alhaj Shamsul Hoque Foundation and with your generous support, 500 oppressed residents of Khan Yunis in the Al-Mawasi area were provided with sehri and iftar meals. This initiative was not merely to fill empty stomachs, it was an effort to convey compassion, brotherhood, and hope.
Ramadan teaches us restraint and the importance of sharing. Bringing even a single moment of joy to the distant people of Gaza that is our true achievement. With your continued support, Insha’Allah, this sehri and iftar program will reach even more people.
In this holy month, let us not only focus on our own tables, but also turn our hearts toward the oppressed around the world. May Allah accept our humble efforts and relieve the suffering of the oppressed. Ameen.
