ASH Foundation distributed essential food supplies to 100 underprivileged families living in the remote areas of Rangamati on Thursday (9th April).
Amid rising living costs, many of these families are struggling to secure daily food. Some are forced to survive on only one meal a day, or even less, enduring extremely harsh living conditions. In response to this hardship, ASH Foundation stepped forward with this humanitarian initiative.
Each relief package contained 8 kg of rice, 2 kg of lentils, and 2 liters of soybean oil. Driven by the commitment to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2, creating a world free of hunger by 2030, the foundation continues to carry out such support programs.
This effort is part of a larger nationwide campaign launched on 11th March, under which a total of 10,000 food packages are being distributed. Of these, 6,000 packages are designated for families in the Chattogram division, while the remaining 4,000 packages are reaching vulnerable communities across Rangpur, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet, and Dhaka divisions.
Overall, the initiative involves the distribution of approximately 62 tons of rice, 15 tons of lentils, and 10 tons of soybean oil, contributing significantly to strengthening food security among the country’s disadvantaged populations.
