Inauguration of Safe Drinking Water Booth
Date: Oct. 1, 2024
On December 31st, a special booth for the free distribution of safe drinking water was inaugurated at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, initiated by the Alhaj Shamsul Hoque Foundation. The project was officially launched at 3:00 PM by the hospital’s Director, Brigadier General Muhammad Taslim Uddin.
Funded and managed by the Foundation, this project has been installed on the rooftop of the hospital’s administrative building. A newly constructed shed houses a modern RO (Reverse Osmosis) machine with a capacity of 1,000 liters per hour. Through this system, nearly 10,000 people are expected to receive clean drinking water every day, Alhamdulillah.
To ensure uninterrupted operation, a designated individual has been appointed for daily management. Additionally, experts from the industry will inspect the system twice a month to monitor and ensure the quality of the water, In shaa Allah.
Alongside the open-access water collection booth on the ground floor in front of the building, additional water booths are being installed on each floor of the building. This will allow patients and visitors to collect safe drinking water conveniently from their respective floors.
Present at today’s meaningful program were the Foundation’s Chairman, Engineer Muhammad Nasir Uddin; Dr. Taiyab Shikder, respected Vice-President of the Chittagong Medical College Hospital Patient Welfare Association and Advisor to the Foundation; and Social Services Officer Abhijit Saha.
This project, made possible with the support of the Foundation’s generous donors, is being operated in collaboration with the Chittagong Medical College Hospital Patient Welfare Association.
