Food Distribution to 10,000 Families Across Bangladesh

Food Distribution to 10,000 Families Across Bangladesh

Date: March 14, 2026

As part of its continued commitment to stand beside vulnerable and marginalized communities during the holy month of Ramadan, Alhaj Shamsul Hoque Foundation (ASHF) has launched a large-scale food distribution program across Bangladesh, beginning on 11 March 2026. The initiative aims to ensure that thousands of underprivileged families can observe Ramadan with dignity, comfort, and food security.

Under this initiative, a total of 10,000 food packages are being distributed nationwide. Of these, the largest share — 6,000 packages — is being distributed among needy families in the Chattogram Division. The remaining 4,000 packages are being delivered to underprivileged communities across the Rangpur, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet, and Dhaka divisions.

Each food package has been carefully prepared with essential staples to support a family’s basic nutritional needs throughout Ramadan. Every package contains 8 kg of rice, 2 kg of lentils (dal), and 2 litres of soybean oil. In total, the distribution includes approximately 62 tons of rice, 15 tons of lentils, and 10 tons of soybean oil, helping thousands of families prepare nutritious meals and share iftar with their loved ones during this blessed month.

For many families struggling with rising food prices and economic hardship, this support has come as a meaningful and timely relief. Beyond addressing immediate nutritional needs, the initiative also carries a deeper message—one of compassion, solidarity, and social responsibility.

By reaching both urban and rural communities, ASHF’s Ramadan food distribution program reflects the foundation’s broader vision: to build a society free from hunger and poverty, where every individual can live with dignity and hope regardless of race, religion, caste, or gender.

Through initiatives like this, Alhaj Shamsul Hoque Foundation continues to reaffirm its commitment to standing beside the most vulnerable people of Bangladesh. The foundation believes that small but consistent acts of kindness can create lasting positive change. Ramadan, a month that inspires generosity, empathy, and humanity, provides the perfect opportunity to put these values into action.

As the food distribution continues across different parts of the country, the smiles and heartfelt gratitude of the beneficiaries serve as a powerful reminder that when people come together with compassion and purpose, real and meaningful change becomes possible.
