Extending a Hand of Compassion: ASH Foundation’s Ramadan Gift for the Rohingya

Date: March 17, 2026

The holy month of Ramadan is a unique time of restraint, compassion, and humanity. During this sacred period, people across the world come together to support one another, reflecting the true beauty of human kindness. In that spirit, a heartfelt story of compassion has unfolded at the Balukhali Camp 10 in Ukhiya, where Alhaj Shamsul Hoque Foundation (ASH Foundation) has delivered Ramadan gifts bringing with them a sense of relief and hope.

It was March 16 (Monday). The morning began like any other, but for many families, it turned into a special day. Amid the hardships and uncertainties of life, they received essential food assistance that brought comfort to their iftar and suhoor during Ramadan.

Under this initiative, Ramadan food packages were distributed among 400 vulnerable families living in the Balukhali camp. Each package contained essential items such as rice, lentils, and cooking oil, enough to support a family’s basic food needs for several days. These small contributions made a meaningful difference in their daily lives.

The program was carried out with the approval of the relevant authorities and in the presence and full cooperation of Camp 10’s CIC, Mohammad Arafatul Islam. The packages were handed directly to the listed families, ensuring a transparent and well-organized distribution process.

According to the foundation, this initiative is not just about providing food, it reflects a deep sense of humanitarian responsibility. Embracing the true spirit of Ramadan compassion and sharing they strive each year to stand beside displaced and underprivileged communities.

For years, Alhaj Shamsul Hoque Foundation has been actively engaged in various humanitarian efforts across Bangladesh, including food aid, educational support, and other welfare activities for disadvantaged communities. Their continued commitment has brought relief and hope to countless lives.

It is worth mentioning that earlier, on March 11 (Wednesday), the foundation distributed food assistance to approximately 10,000 underprivileged families across different regions of the country, including Chattogram, Dhaka, and Sylhet another remarkable example of their large-scale humanitarian outreach.

Ramadan is not only a month of worship; it is also a month of humanity. And through initiatives like this, ASH Foundation is truly spreading the light of compassion making it a story that inspires.
